HIPPY Halton creates opportunities for families to thrive.
We have written before about the importance of developing both fine motor (small muscle) and gross motor (large muscles) skills. Our children need strong skills to become coordinated, strong, independent, and academically successful.
These activities all help develop the muscles our children need:
Playing with sand and water – builds large and small muscles
Building with blocks and other materials – problem solving to prevent toppling structures
Drawing and painting – fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination
Catch – eye-hand coordination, needed for writing and large muscles to run for the ball.
And last and perhaps most importantly(?) fun times together!
