How much more??

#SundaySeeds, because everything begins with a seed...

As promised - more math skills - looking at a different kind of measurement!

Last time we looked at length and measured with non-standard measures like hands, lego blocks and crayons.

This week, we look at weight and how to measure and compare. But first a story to illustrate balancing weights.

Make a balancing scale like this and help your child experiment with items for each side.

Have them predict which one will be heavier and lighter and how many extra it would take to balance your scale

Use anything at hand: buttons, paper clips, toothpicks,

crayons, or coins

Your child is developing several important math skills: estimating, predicting, evaluating while trying lots of combinations!
