Today is International Relaxation Day!

#SundaySeeds because everything starts with a seed….

We have all been stressed and anxious over the last year and a half.

This is your opportunity to step away from worries, look after yourself and model relaxation for your child. Take a moment to go through these mindfulness techniques and allow your mind to connect with your surroundings.

Proven relaxation techniques that you can do alone or together include:

  • Belly breathing: lie flat on the floor. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. Notice how only your tummy moves. (Place a stuffed animal on the child’s tummy to illustrate the movement) You can do this standing up too – place your hands on your tummy and watch it rise and fall.

  • Listen and breathe along with the story Breathe Like a Bear - https://bit.ly/3CkdgXv

  • The Big Squeeze Start with your toes and systematically squeeze and release muscles all the way up your body.

  • Go for a nature walk and really look around…

Life is so much calmer when we focus on what really matters!
