This is your opportunity to step away from worries, look after yourself and model relaxation for your child. Take a moment to go through these mindfulness techniques and allow your mind to connect with your surroundings.
Proven relaxation techniques that you can do alone or together include:
Belly breathing: lie flat on the floor. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. Notice how only your tummy moves. (Place a stuffed animal on the child’s tummy to illustrate the movement) You can do this standing up too – place your hands on your tummy and watch it rise and fall.

The Big Squeeze Start with your toes and systematically squeeze and release muscles all the way up your body.
Go for a nature walk and really look around…
