Music develops children’s memory, listening, and auditory processing skills, as well as their vocabulary.
1. Nursery Rhymes
Sing nursery rhymes and then make up your own words! This playlist has a huge collection of nursery rhymes and songs.
2. Play musical statutes
Play music and dance around, when the music stops you have to freeze like a statue!
This is a great way to develop your child’s concentration and focus.
3. Draw the music you hear
Choose a few songs from various musical genres. Give your child some paper and a choice of crayons or markers. Ask them to draw what they hear as the music plays.
how does it make you feel? Is it fast or slow?
What colours do you think of when you listen to this song?
4. Play One little elephant!
Lyrics:
One little elephant balancing,
step by step on a piece of string.
Thought it was such tremendous fun,
that ....... called for another elephant to come!
Two little elephants balancing,
step by step on a piece of string.
Thought it was such tremendous fun,
that ....... called for another elephant to come!
Three little elephants balancing,
step by step on a piece of string.
Thought it was such tremendous fun
that ....... called for another elephant to come!
